    Eastern Quoll (Dasyurus viverrinus)

This medium-sized carnivorous dasyurid marsupial native to Australia is also known as the eastern native cat. They are now considered extinct on the mainland, but remain widespread and even locally common in Tasmania. The eastern quoll is a solitary predator, hunting at night for its prey of insects and small mammals.

    Kiwi (genus Apteryx)

Kiwis are small flightless birds endemic to New Zealand. They are by far the smallest living ratites and lay the largest egg in relation to their body size of any species of bird in the world. There are five recognised species, two of which are currently vulnerable, one of which is endangered, and one of which is critically endangered.
